Nutrient Profile for Dried Plums
To improve nutrient intake and lower the risk of chronic disease, the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans encourages food patterns that emphasize fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, low fat dairy foods, seafood and moderate amounts of lean meats, poultry and eggs. The Guidelines also encourage increased intake of shortfall nutrients including dietary fiber, potassium, caldium and vitamin D. Dried plums have fiber and potassium and as a fruit are cholesterol-, fat- and sodium-free, and contain no trans-fatty acids. the sugars in dried plums are naturally occuring .
