Nutty Dried Plum Spread

Cream cheese spread with dried plums and walnuts shows its versatility as a sandwich filling, dip for apple slices, or on crackers or celery sticks.

Ingredients

1 package (8 ounces) reduced-fat cream cheese (Neufchâtel cheese), softened
1/3 cup orange juice
1 1/2 teaspoons grated orange peel
3/4 cup (about 5 ounces) pitted dried plums
1/2 cup walnut pieces


Directions

In food processor, process cream cheese, orange juice and peel until smooth. Add dried plums; process until coarsely chopped, pulsing on and off. Add walnuts; process briefly until finely chopped. Serve as a spread for sliced fresh fruits or crackers.
