Stewed Dried Plums with Orange
Orange and cloves make this variation of stewed dried plums just a little more festive. Serve warm or cold at breakfast or, slightly sweetened, as dessert.
1 pound pitted dried plums
Whole cloves, as needed
1 six-ounce can frozen orange juice concentrate
Brown sugar, as needed
Place dried plums in saucepan. Wash orange; cut across into thin slices. Cut each slice into quarters and stick a whole clove into each quarter. Add oranges, orange juice and water to saucepan. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. If desired, add brown sugar to taste. Serve warm or cold.
